Action from the 2006 National’s on the estuary
off the Encinal Y.C,
October 2006.

Eleven Millimeters showed up to race in the 2007 Millimeter National Regatta on Huntington Lake on the first weekend of August. Both Saturday and Sunday were sunny days with shifting winds of 10-15 knots and small choppy waves. Definately the high range in which to race a Millie. The Fresno YC was the sponsor of the event.

The format was to be six races Saturday and four races on Sunday. The single sausage course was used the most with an occasional double sausage thrown in. Due to the wind velocity, the series was cut short at seven races. This mean't that there would be only one throwout. Pax Davis opened the series with a first and followed it with three more along with a second and a third, using his fourth place as a throwout. Davis was hard to beat as Aaron Lee, very consistent throughout the series never had worse than a third and won the second prize. .

Bob Harper displayed some fine speed in the rough going and won two races to grab the third spot. John Scarborough, a guest skipper, sailed very well, being new to the Millie, with a second place his best race, held the fourth place. Liam O'flaherty, with a second his best race, broke the tie with Dave Mosher, to place in the top five. a owners in their first nationals.

The annual dinner was enjoyed by all Saturday night at the Lakeshore Restaurant

Many thanks to Francis Sampson as our race committee along with his helpers each day and Keith Dettman for organizing the event.
